Early Preperation
Generally, your surgeon will schedule your surgery with the center from a few days to weeks
in advance. There are various procedures which need to be completed before the day of
surgery. Your surgeon will need to complete a medical history and physical examination
which tells us about your medical condition. The surgeon may do that at the time you are
seen in his/her office or the surgeon may send you to your primary care or internist.
Some patients may require additional testing before surgery, such as blood work, x-rays,
etc… These tests need to be completed in advance of the surgery so that the results can be
reviewed before surgery.
Some patients may request a tour of the facility and we will certainly accommodate those
that which to visit before the day of surgery.
During this period, the billing department will handle getting approvals for your surgery.
They may contact you to verify information. Many patients will choose to come into the
center to turn in necessary paperwork prior to the surgical day. There will be two, if not
three calls from the center prior to the date of surgery. The surgery scheduler will call
to discuss insurance deductible and co-insurance amounts that you will be required to pay
the day of surgery. The pre-operative nurses will call to discuss your health issues and
give information about the day of surgery. The registration office may call to get
registration information so the day of surgery the process can be expedited.
We strongly encourage a visit at your convenience to bring in all paperwork rather than
leaving it to the morning of surgery. You may download required forms from this website.
A nurse from the center will contact you before your surgery to assess any specific needs
or concerns. The nurse will provide instructions and answer any questions you may have.
