Dr. Rouweyha earned his Bachelor degree in combined science from Youngstown State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He obtained his Medical Degree at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. His residency in General Ophthalmology was completed at the prestigious George Washington University Medical Center in Washington D.C., where he received the Chief Resident Award. He concluded his training at the Hermann Eye Center in the University of Texas Medical Center, Houston, where he completed a one-year clinical/research fellowship in cornea/external disease and refractive surgery. During his fellowship, he was named Outstanding Fellow of the Year.

Dr. Rouweyha has been with Nevada Eye and Ear since 2001. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and currently serves as the Medical Director of the Nevada Donor Eye Network. Dr. Rouweyha performs a host of corneal corrective procedures, including, LASIK, PRK, LASEK, AK and Bladeless Laser Vision correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. He is certified on multiple laser platforms for refractive surgery –Alcon Wavelight Allegretto, Zeiss Mel 80, Nidek EC-5000, Autonomous LADAR VISION Custom Cornea, B&L Technolas, B&L Zywave, VISX S4, and VISX CustomVue Excimer Lasers.   His expertise includes corneal surgery as well as surgeries of the anterior segment including, INTACS for Keratoconus, Corneal Transplant Surgery, DSEK, and Pterygium Surgery. In addition, Dr. Rouweyha is certified in Conductive Keratoplasty for Presbyopia, Cosmetic Botox, Restylane, and the Locs II lens grading system. He is one of the first ophthalmologists in Nevada to be certified on the LENSAR® femtosecond laser cataract system. Dr. Rouweyha holds memberships in the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Nevada State Medical Association, and the Clark County Medical Society.
